“HORIZONTI” was established in January 2000, as a micro-crediting project of the Catholic Relief Services U.S.C.C. (Catholic Relief Services – CRS) in the Republic of Macedonia. The primary goal of the project was to provide access to financial services – microcredits for entrepreneurs in the country and creating a self-sustaining micro-financing institution. The project was financially and technically supported by the CRS and other prominent and renowned international donors. In June 2005, the project was localized by establishing the Microcredit Foundation HORIZONTI, in accordance with the Law on Citizens’ Associations and Foundations. The founder of the foundation is CRS.
Since the beginning of its operation, HORIZONTI has provided financial support to over 10,000 clients, including: small business owners, individual farmers and people with housing needs. The purpose of this support is to promote economic activities of the clients and to improve the living standard.
