HORIZONTI was founded in January 2000 as a microcredit project of Catholic Relief Services U.S.C.C. (Catholic Relief Services - CRS), in R. Macedonia. The primary goals of the project were providing access to financial services - microcredits to entrepreneurs in the country and creating a local self-sustaining microfinance institution.

The project was financially and technically supported by CRS and other well-known and renowned international donors. In June 2005, the project was localized with the establishment of a microcredit foundation HORIZONTI, in accordance with the Law on Associations of Citizens and Foundations. The founder of the foundation is CRS.

Since the beginning of its operations, HORIZONTI has provided financial support to over 10,000 users, including: small business owners, individual farmers and the population with housing needs. The purpose of this support is to promote the economic activities of the clients and improve the standard of living.
